I like your closing paraghraph allot because it speaks volumes to me.
I find I most often take myself too serious or the things people say this way, internalize them, hang onto them etc...I know I should lightren up more often and laugh more often. The thing is i don't find much of what people laugh at these days to be all that funny.
In closing being kind can/is diffult when WE live on a planet that is be cruel.

Hi, all:

I thought I'd seen every lame thing the RFID industry could dish up to
support microchip implants, but this is over the top.

An upcoming "Chip-a-thon"(!?!) in Northern Pennsylvania will be
injecting pets with microchips -- to raise money for the American Cancer
Society!

http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090411/NEWS/904110358

These are the same microchips that cause cancer in 1% to 10% of
laboratory animals that receive them. Peer-reviewed journal articles
have shown to be related to cancerous tumors in at least two dogs.

This promotional puff piece contains no mention of cancer, the recent
death of Charlie Brown--the chihuahua that bled to death in January from
a chip implant, chip migration, chip failure, MRI incompatibility,
function creep, societal downsides, industry deception, religious
opposition -- nothing.

Contimplating often on how to be prepared when I amoften soooo tired these days.

Yeah, he's younger than me, too! I trust him - he comes across as genuine and he's surrounded himself with some of the best advisors. I sure don't want the job, but there is no maximum age limit!
Still, it's sobering to realize that we're approaching the half century mark. And- "The median age in America reached its highest point ever at 35.3 years, up from 32.9 years in 1990, according to recently released data from Census 2000." That means we're older than half the population, but, heck, don't we look marvelous!
p.s I love your new photo!

are our lives as stressfull as we think????

September 18

Acts 28

Paul finally arrives in Rome after a harrowing journey by sea.

INSIGHT

Our lives are a constant struggle between our own wills and the will of God. The circumstances of God's will are often strange and enigmatic; they do not always make sense. However, His will is being worked out even in ways we cannot see or understand. When we relinquish control of our lives and yield to God's will, then peace, love, and joy will characterize our lives. Paul must have wondered from time to time how shipwreck and imprisonment were working into God's will; yet with historical perspective, we can see that good came of these events. In the words of the old hymn, we must: "Trust and obey, for there´s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey."

This is from crosswalk devotional.

I KNOWI know He is the beginning, so why do I worry about the end?I know He is the creator, so why do I wonder who will destroy?I know He has forgiven me, so why can't I forgive myself?I know He is a healer, so why do I speak of sickness?I know He can do all things, so why do I say I can't?I know He will protect me, so why do I fear?I know He will supply all my needs, so why can't I wait?I know He is my strength and my salvation, so why do I feel weak?I know that everything and everyone has a season, so why when someone's season is over do I weep instead of rejoice?I know He is the right way, so why do I go the wrong way?I know He is the light, so why do I choose to walk in darkness?I know that whatever I ask of GOD, GOD will give me, so why am I scared to ask?I know tomorrow is not promised, so why do I put off for tomorrow what I can do today?I know that the truth shall make me free, so why do I continue to lie?I know He gives us revelation knowledge and understanding, so why do I lean on my own understanding?I know I should live in the spirit as well as walk in the spirit, so why do I choose to live in the spirit but walk in the flesh?I know that when praises go up blessings come down, so why do I refuse to praise Him?I know I am saved, so why do I refuse the word He has given me?I know He has a plan for me, so why am I rushing it because I am eager to do His will, when it is His time not my time?If we truly know all these things and rely on the infallible word of God and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit our lives would be so indescribably beautiful and peaceful! _____________________________________________________________Click for free info on online degrees and make up to $150K/ year.

I was watching Hitler's 3rd reich today with a friend and how the jews were treated by Hitler,as well as how Jews related to hitler.
He was looked up to and viewed as a ltieral Savior.Hitler was a true deciever,a wicked man on the the brink of being A antichrist.
Wake up America from your slumber for we are not far from a potential holocaust in our homeland if we do not rise up and stand for something we will certainly fall for anything.

I just want to say thank you for keeping things is such good perspective. We all have a certain degree of cynicism but the more we accept that "it is what is is", and know God's got it all under control, the better off we'll all be. We have to keep the faith and not allow those negative influences mar our perspectives. His judgement comes to all. It is individual acts that define us, and we can really only control ourselves. If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem!

Could this be an implication of a form of spiritual warfare.
I was speaking with a Man who had Just finshed writing a book on spiritual warfare and he gave me some examples.
issues such as anger, bitterness, controlling people, unforgiveness.depression are just a few types of spirtual warfare.
I would like like to hear your thoughts on this and how accurate he is regarding some of these.

...drifting by with WWP - wandering while procrastinating, and I must say it has been a blessed diversion rambling along your blog, Carol. Enjoy Simple Truths too and the background of it all. Found your note on MyCrossFactor.

Your most recent is blog is my daily survival secret as an emergency sub in the public school system... others wonder how I do it, and my only reply, simply grace.

BTW, tartistically* resounds with a distinctly morning poignancy rather appealing to my 'morning Joe' senses, more so than hermenuetically coupled ideas, so bravo...

One thing I'd like to submit for inclusion with your solution summaries of the roots of conflict is grace, especially if we forgive, as we seek it for ourselves, we find our youth restored... dying to self, find new life.

I must agree with Maggie about having one last chance to say I love you before it is to late.
I lst My dear Mother on Feb 02 and had that chance this time around.
So I advise all who visit this site from this moment on to contact anyone near or dear to them to do so any chance you have because you never know when it might be to late to say "I Love YOU"

Maggie

February 15, 2008

I am touched by the Ohio school shootings...the media guarantees that we're all aware when such terrible events take place.
The one message that really came through to me was families who had lost loved ones wished they had one more chance to say "I love you".
Let's don't forget how important for those we hold dear know that they are cherished while they are with us - no regrets!
May they all rest with the angels in God's glory.

Prayer for the Beginning of the Day:
O Lord, grant me to greet the coming day in peace, help me in all things to rely upon your holy will. In every hour of the day reveal your will to me. Bless my dealings with all who surround me. Teach me to treat all that comes to be throughout the day with peace of soul and with firm conviction that your will governs all. In all my deeds and words, guide my thoughts and feelings. In unforeseen events, let me not forget that all are sent by you. Teach me to act firmly and wisely, without embittering and embarrassing others. Give me strength to bear the fatigue of the coming day with all that it shall bring. Direct my will, teach me to pray. And you, yourself, pray in me. Amen.

Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans, Savannoh. Beautiful name, by the way. I empathize with Carol - Family health and associated financial matters are taking up much of my time and thoughts. I pray a lot in order to keep the fears at bay. All I know is "que sera, sera" whether I like the outcome or not. It's like Mother Teresa once said, " I know God won't give me anything I can't handle; I just wish He wouldn't trust me so much!"
Carol - I'm sure you know that we are here for you, too, and you needn't feel like you owe us a response. God bless us, everyone.

there has been a lot that has kept me from the blogging seat these past few weeks...family trials, playing out some, work and some Christmas stuff...but mainly, the family trials have been hard enough to take some wind out of my sails...so I've been spending a lot of time just thinking and praying, and not saying too much...I know there is a time for everything, and I will be back in the chair soon! "He (Jesus) has this quirky way of coming in different forms" ... You reminded me of a short lived television program, Joan of Arcadia. God would appear to Joan, a highschool girl, in different personas. It was one of many influences that made me aware of how important it is to connect with people.

Giving thanks - not just today, mind you! Let's all take some time to count our blessings. It's not just the food, the parades and the big shopping spree that starts at ungodly hours. I'm thankful for my health, a successful heart surgery for my husband, a gratifying job, a home full of love and comfort, family and good friends. Thank you, Carol, for being there for us!

Not to be mistaken for Hannah who has signed your guestbook.
I have been checking out your site on and off for sometime now.
I have found many of the other guest entries to be both interesting and heart felt as well.
I would like to know what happened to the entry from the person who is battling the fear of man and what people think of them.
Can you please respond and perhaps get it reposted or something so I can pray for this person.

Note;
I can't get it reposted, because I don't post them, I just approve them: sometimes because of what I think is a glitch in the server, the top, or more recent posts, sometimes get deleted and I have no idea why. If they read this, however maybe they will post again, and in the meantime, do pray! I'm sure they would appreciate it. I have posted several things touching on that sort of thing since then, and I'm sure will again...it is a big, important topic. Thanks for you post...God bless you...from Carol

Could you take some time to explore your thoughts on the Law of Attraction and how it relates to faith and the power of positive thinking? I have a relative who has always floundered in fear and negativity, and it seems to me that some of these principles can be directly applied as thy are found in the bible. How can I persuade him to acknowledge the blessings that have been given to him and open his eyes to God's gifts that he is failing to embrace?

Maggie: I will be writing about this subject next...thanks

Maggie

November 3, 2007

I was looking more for your thoughts on faith and the power of positive thinking. I did some research and came up with this angle (all quoted from websites/links), not so much that Happiness is not the most important thing in life, but rather, recognizing that we do have blessings, and how do we learn to see them?
"Your gift may not be what you think or hope it is. There are strong signs saying 'NO' that some people just blow right past. You may want to be an evangelist, but lose your bearings when you don't see any results in a short time. You may try to be a pastor, but other peoples' problems leave you a blubbering mess. You may want to be a counselor, but you find yourself constantly trying to be a fix-it. You may want to be a theologian, but you let doubts or agendas rule you instead of God. If that's happening, your gifts probably aren't what you think they are, and you need to get intense with God to find out what they really are.
You're not responsible for the gifts you don't have, only for the gifts God gave you. So don't feel guilty about it, and don't let others make you feel guilty about it. Your job is to use the gifts you have and to be part of the community of support for those who have other gifts."
http://www.spirithome.com/gifts-sp.html

(2 Corinthians 9:6-15 NIV) Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. {7} Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. {8} And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. {9} As it is written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever."

http://www.seekgod.org/message/thegift.html

Lord, help me to remember that there are many ways to rejoice in any kind of day you make for us.
Promise. "A faithful man shall abound with blessings."
- Proverbs 28:20
http://www.clickets.com/targets/spiritual/jcgodsgifts.asp
Matthew 17:20
"I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, `Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."
Luke 12:32
"Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom."
John 4:17-19
"There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."
Matthew 6:32-34
"But seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

I think we need to foster a spirit of rejoicing even in times of trouble and despair, and to try to find the good in every situation that we can - that which does not kill us serves to make us stronger, if we have Faith!

*Great thoughts, Maggie. I hadn't actually responded directly yet to your post, but it's created a great dialog so far, which is great. To add to your most recent blog I say a billboard recently @ geographically near Geddes Street Hd motorcylce shop.
I do not remember the prduct it billboard was trying to sell,BUT the message said this exactly RED MEANS GO.How appropiate to place this add right across the street fron the gathering spot of quite agressive bikers personalities, spirit.
Rather than slapping a bumper sticker on ONE'S CAR stating watch for MOTORCYCLES.Pehaps someone should make a sticker that says watch out for others best interests/safety!!!!

I agree with you on #1 and #3.There is one thing I would like to add that I personally hate. That being the pace of this life.We live in a culture of cramming, and accoreding to the author Stephen R. Covey is not very effective.
It saddens me that many of us do not have a vision or direction.
Mr.Covey in one of his books asked people at one of his seminars to point in the direction that thought true north is?
How can we truly know or judge which direction true north is.Pretty dep stuff do you agree?

Prisoner writer:
it is a war to live for Christ in this world...as a prisoner, (I am assuming incarceration) you have experienced war. The only way, IMO to survive is to "abide in the vine." I am no expert, but I have this opinion: if we stay near and fear and hear Him: we can manuever through the landmines. I bet there's a lot out there on the www about "abiding" in the vine. Maybe I'll write about it, too! I'll be praying. BTW: if anyone else wants to add their thoughts, feel free. Just be respectful and kindhearted in your responses on this guestbook, I ask...thanks!

I have learned from the true history Book as well as through observation of life that we have been and remain in dark beyond description.I have also learned this from sources such as the diary of Anne frank,Man's search for meaning,Pilgrim's progress,as well as from Billy Graham....
What I know is that times are not going to get better, easier so how does one strive to be a light house to ships lost in the dense fog of this life???

Traumatized or desensitized

April 24, 2007

I would like to thank c/ra/hfor the entry on the VT horrific happing ( s) as well as Carol's insightful, truthfulness that we rarely get from heartless media.
I thank both of you ever so much.I fear our culture has become more desensitized than traumatized, caring, compasionate toward the families who lost loved ones at the cost of really, really disturbed and tormented individual.Shame in abc for airing this man's wishes ontop of the spiriually wounded family members whose scars will likey take a long, long time to heal if at all.
This was a clasic case of the boy who cried wolf and and not one person believed or listened to him.Now all the kings horses and all the kings men cannot put these families back together again.
This boils down to our sin nature that we are marked with since the Garden.Perhaps we need to heed the bumper sticker most of us have seen that says kill your TV set,or perhaps if you do not like what you are viewing keep in mind each of us has the power to either change the channel or simply turn it off.
My heart goes out to all those who lost someone who was near and dear to them, end of story.

I have a dark cloud hanging over me due to the Virginia Tech tradity and I would feel comforted if you would write about it in your blog when you have the time,in a manner that God would give the words on such a hororific difficult to understand situation.we really need to wake up!!!

Beanie;
the bible says that "hope deferred makes the heart sick." When we hope for something that doesn't come, we get disheartened. Sometimes it helps to talk things through with someone else, outside of the situation(s), perhaps even a counselor. If you can pinpoint the real issues of your distance from God, things usually resolve from there...I will pray for you!

For John:
You have a harder road than most. I have found that reading writings from the mouths and hearts of others who have fought similar battles helps. Also, don't give up "having it out" with God.
He knows when we are angry and does not disdain us...in fact, He wants us to tell it to Him. My husband and I believe suffering can be a calling. Maybe we're warped, but it seems to ring true. I will pray for your journey.

in 05 at age 58 I got the bad news......cancer. Base of tounge, treatment included surgery, chemo, and radiation. I was in deep trouble because the cancer was in stage 4 (5 is dead). Anyway, needles to say I viewed myself as a dead man walking. Hugged my wife, said my goodbyes and then wondered about weither or not there is a God. The jury is still out on that. I truly want to beleive but somehow just can't. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure of the color names...they were part of the design. Sherwin williams has a color called "paradise" that is close to the darker green, and they have a color called "gleeful" which is very close to the background color. Also, the color for the page buttons is close to their "lime rickey." I picked these colors because I love the color green, and a lot of different shades of it...

thank you from stupid separated, person.distant from other people, and Him trying to find His forgiveness, healing, however full of fear and what if emotions.
Feeling the tension of this crazy place and wonder why I am here.
In the beginning og the movie it was said that in any normal city people brush into each other, not in LA no touches each other. It was put this way they crash into each other just so they can feel something due to the fact they hide behind metal and glass and are so lonely that is the the only way of connecting.

Oh nice! Very pretty page!

/// crash \

March 9, 2007

While the beginning of the movie crash focuses on the ways people too often perceive and treat each other, the end of the movie gives us a glimpse, however limited,of the way God sees us.While we are flawed,He does not focus on our flaws but desires to free us from them.Although we do things to separate ourselves from Him and others,He desires to love us,and heal us,and fill our lives with friendship and connections. In a world that too often makes us feel like we are alone and untouchable,He lets us know that He is here, watching over us,working around us,and always loving us.

His Lead....
